Therapeutic Massage
Therapeutic Chinese Massage, also referred to as Tuina, is a form of Chinese massage therapy integral to Traditional Chinese Medicine. In China, it holds the same importance as acupuncture, herbal medicine, and other traditional Chinese medical practices.

Tuina originated as a method to address pediatric issues before Western medicine was prevalent in China, providing alternatives for children who couldn't easily consume herbs or tolerate acupuncture needles. It also aimed to treat conditions typically handled by physiotherapists, chiropractors, or osteopaths in Western medicine.

While Western manual therapists often employ specific techniques for particular conditions, Tuina encompasses a range of manual massage techniques tailored to the patient's needs and incorporates mindfulness practices such as breathing techniques, heat, or vibration to restore balance.

Due to its comprehensive approach, Tuina is considered an extension of Western massage with therapeutic benefits. It complements acupuncture by enhancing Yin-Yang balance and is tailored to each individual's needs, prioritizing safety and personalized care.
How Does It Work?
Tuina therapy operates by targeting the muscles, bones, and joints, while also addressing the deeper energy flow within the body through manipulation of qi via acupressure points and energy pathways. Originating as one of the earliest healing methods in ancient China, Tuina was crafted to maintain bodily balance and prevent illness by harmonizing the body's energy. Over thousands of years, it has evolved into a comprehensive discipline, seamlessly integrating theory with practice.
By working on acupuncture points, Tuina therapy stimulates nerve activity similarly to acupuncture, promoting improved blood circulation, correcting abnormal anatomical changes, and inducing muscle relaxation. This holistic approach aims to restore harmony within the body, fostering overall health and well-being.
